A few more images from the St George District Netb A few more images from the St George District Netball Association Grand Final Day from earlier this month - thanks to @clusterpix_photography

I told you there was plenty of action to fill my cards, didn’t I?
A couple of weeks ago — thanks to @clusterpix_p A couple of weeks ago — thanks to @clusterpix_photography — I had the opportunity to photograph the St George District Netball Association Grand Final Day and, in so doing, add another sport to the CV

There are always things you learn when you photograph a sport for the first time — and netball was no different. The speed at which the ball whipped around the court was much faster than I had anticipated and the on-court aggression levels way above expectations too but, whilst that made for a challenging introduction, it was a heap of fun to photograph

A full day of competition spread across three divisions and with multiple matches being played concurrently ensured there was plenty of action with which to fill my cards

I have uploaded the images from last Saturday’s AAGPS Athletics to the peterwade.photography website

Under normal circumstances some of these wouldn’t have been let loose into the ether but given the interest and the number of requests took an executive decision to let them go

The images can be found at the usual location —

Hope you enjoy them and they quench your thirst until everyone gets stuck into sport again in Term 4

Have a great break and we look forward to seeing you on the sidelines somewhere along the way once the summer sport season swings into action
When I was a boy (yes, I was one a long time ago ) When I was a boy (yes, I was one a long time ago ) we had a saying — Winners are grinners; losers can do what they like

Given the number of people enquiring about photos from last Saturday’s AAGPS Athletics triumph that expression has come back to me a few times over the past couple of days — you could almost see the smile on their dials through the emails/IG messages/texts I have received

I promise I will try to upload the images to the website tomorrow — and I will confirm on Thursday’s post so you can head off on your vacation in the knowledge all is well with the world

So, back by popular demand…
Whilst the boys continue to bask in their well des Whilst the boys continue to bask in their well deserved glory we have been beavering away culling and editing our (many) images from last Saturday’s action

Delighted to say that that is now well behind us with the resultant photos waiting for the Sports Department to upload them to Schoolbox

I am not able to get them onto our website until, likely, the back end of this week but will advise via these pages as soon as that has been done

In the meantime a few memories from the weekend — including a couple that should have gone out last night but the technical director/dinosaur that is me messed up the post. Just as well I am also the boss!
The last couple of weeks of term 3 signal the onse The last couple of weeks of term 3 signal the onset (onslaught?) of the school athletics championship season

So, after enjoying some downtime since winter sports finished, we dusted the cobwebs off the tools, charged the batteries, topped up the petrol tank and headed out to the Sydney Olympic Park Athletic Centre

And then the weather gods decided to roll out an early taste of summer - Saturday being 33 degrees hot which, after a long winter, took us by surprise and tested the athletes in ways they hadn’t anticipated

But in the end it was worth it with Scots winning the Premiership for the first time since 2018 — just squeezing home from Joey’s who were only three points adrift in second place

Athletics might be done and dusted for another year but in a month it’s time for us to get stuck into summer sport. And so the cycle continues…
In recent times I have found myself suffering a li In recent times I have found myself suffering a little from Instagram laziness but watching some of the highlights from the Rugby World Cup in France over the weekend got the juices going once more

It is hard to believe it was only two months ago that I ventured out to Comm Bank Stadium to photograph the Argentina v Wallabies match — sometimes it seems like aeons ago

So today it had to be a few memories to help make it seem like it all happened yesterday
Someone asked me last week what I do on Saturday’s when there are no sporting commitments — which is what happened yesterday

Firstly, the alarm didn’t go off at 0600 meaning I managed to actually get a little longer in the sack — that was followed by an easy morning of stuffing around doing very little

My afternoon, however, was spent housekeeping — sitting in front of the computer uploading all the images from across the last two weeks of the winter sport season to our website

If you, too, haven’t got much happening now that sport is over, head over to the website where you will find plenty more photos like those posted today (https://peterwade.photography/recent-shoots/)
To finish off the week it’s back to the rugby — today some images from the mighty 5ths and 6ths

Unfortunately for the 5ths they were drawn to play the Newington 3rds. Not sure how that happened but they gave it a good crack, dug deep and, as you would probably expect, lost. A learning experience, guys

And the 6ths…well their final match was truncated as a result of one of the Newington boys going down with what looked like a serious leg injury. Hope he’s ok and raring to go once more
