I had no idea what to expect when we spent a week on the Greek island of Corfu but, having now been there, would not be averse to returning. It is nothing like the party islands one hears of in that part of the world but, due to its accessibility, is certainly one of the more crowded. Having said that, if you do find the right place to stay the crowds are only an issue if you venture into the old town (well worth doing) or when checking in at the airport before departing
